This Is What They’re Craving: 6 Sunday Night Football Essentials

In This Article

The only shopping list you’ll need to prep for the big game—from burgers to brisket.

Getting ready to host a Sunday football watch party? You’ve come to the right place. The game may be unpredictable, but your friends’ appetites are: hungry is the only way they’re showing up, and we’re here to get you stocked and ready with crave-worthy essentials. Add the below to your next box and you’ll be covered for this Sunday and beyond—when your friends see your freezer, we can promise they’ll be back again. Plus, these six mouthwatering meats are all simple to make—who said hosting had to be hard? Not us. Game on.

1. Chicken Wings

If there’s a game on, they’ll want wings—it’s science. Let us count the ways we love them: they’re quite literally finger-licking good, taste great with a brew, and are seriously simple to make (see proof here). Plus, our organic wings come from chickens raised with free range, resulting in healthier, more flavorful meat. You can’t go wrong with this crowd-pleaser—be sure it hits your box.

2. Brisket

Adding brisket to the mix is going to make you look like a seasoned pro without any of the effort. It asks for time, not skill—simply set aside a long afternoon, roast it on low, and wallow in a house that smells like the world’s best barbeque. The payoff is a deeply beefy, smoky, melt-in-your-mouth meat that will probably disappear the second you put it in front of your guests—consider yourself warned.

3. Burgers

Nothing says Sunday football like a stack of burgers, especially when the burger is made from 100% grass-fed patties so mouthwatering you’ll need extra napkins. Make it even easier on you by setting out the patties and buns with a toppings bar so everyone can assemble their own—and go back for a second. And maybe a third.

4. Ribs

Here’s another showstopper: ribs. Sticky, smoky, and fall-off-the-bone tender, these ribs are the only thing that will make the room go quiet—at least until someone scores. Like brisket, they do the heavy lifting in the oven or own the smoker, so the prep is surprisingly easy considering the knockout flavor. Serve them once and you can be sure you’ll be hosting again next Sunday—just don’t forget a roll of paper towels.

5. Hot Dogs

Nobody in the history of football has turned down a hot dog. It’s the nostalgic choice, and everyone loves biting into an NFL game of their youth. We’ll make this one so easy you can’t say no to serving it: boil the dogs, serve with mustard, relish, and onions—and you’re done.

6. Brats

Think of brats as the hot dog’s more serious cousin: juicy, peppery, and made for a pile of sautéed onions and a spicy brown mustard. Give them a beer bath, finish them with a hard sear, and let the spice do the talking. Great for the guest who says they don’t love hot dogs… and then eats two of these. That being said, better add a couple to your next box.
